The Cabin – Narrative Level UE4

The Cabin is a narrative level realized in Unreal Engine 4 for both Level Production and Narrative Design courses during my second session at Campus ADN in Level Design. The accent was put on the environmental storytelling.

Design Intentions:

  • Tell a story only through environment;
  • Making the player part of the story through a very simple, but effective gameplay.

Constraints:

    • Design a walking-simulator-like map;
    • Having an exterior and an interior section;
    • Walkthrough must be 1,5 minute minimum;
    • Choose from the proposed themes (I’ve chosen the following:  »Someone hid when you approached, but you did not see him/her hide. He/she left tracks… »);
    • Time limit (± 1 month, working around 5h per week on it).
