Atlantic Edge (Winner – Game Jam Battle 2019)

Atlantic Edge is a coop twin-stick shooter realized during the 2019’s edition of Game Jam Battle with Unity. This year, the theme was «Connect». My team and I decided to push the theme further than the screen by making a game in which two player must do the same input at the same time in order to control the robot. This mechanic force the players to communicate, to «connect», in order to beat the waves of aliens coming towards them.

Atlantic Edge’s controls, artistic direction and polish pleased the jury and made our team won the First Place of the competition.

Constraints:

  • Respect the GameJam’s themeConnect»);
  • Time limit (48h).

I was responsible for:

  • Level Design of the city;
  • Asset Integration (Models, Textures and VFX);
  • Set-dressing and Lighting (except post-process);
  • Scripting of some Gamplay Elements (Upgrade Collection and Appearence, Tutorial, Environment Destruction).
